1. Calanda Broncos (4-0)
The Broncos are 4–0 going into their first bye week. They won their first big test against Basel and, while winning every game, some performances were too close for Calanda standards. The Bern Grizzlies seem to be their biggest contender as of now.
2. Bern Grizzlies (3-0) +1
Bern had a statement win against the Basel Gladiators! The explosive offense around new signal caller Aaron Ellis and receivers Nolan O‘Leary and Xavier Studer is fun to watch. Their experienced D-line is the best in the league.
3. Winterthur Warriors (3-0) +1
This is their first 3–0 start in years. New president Pascal Hollenstein has turned things around by combining homegrown talent with strong import additions.
4. Basel Gladiators (0-2) -2
After a strong performance against the Broncos, they collapsed against Bern in surprising fashion. They need a bounce-back game against Zurich this weekend.
5. St. Gallen Bears (1-2) +3
The Bears should have won against Winterthur in Week 1. They looked better than expected against Calanda and finally showed their potential in a 50–30 shootout win against the Renegades.
6. Geneva Seahawks (0-2) -1
The Seahawks almost upset Calanda on the road. They have an extremely thin roster, but Clark Evans and Benaya Alerini run the show in Geneva. They will win more games than last year.
7. Thun Tigers (0-3) -1
Thun takes a step back, as it seems that longtime QB Nicolas Leibundgut won’t return. It will be difficult for them to make it back to the playoffs.
8. Zurich Renegades (0-3) -1
After being shut out in the first two weeks, Zurich scored 30 points against St. Gallen. There still needs to be more improvement. However, it would not shock me if they win one or two games.
