Budapest Wolves (2-0)
The Budapest Wolves didn’t start fast, but once they found their spark, they took full control and never looked back.
That turning point came on special teams, where WR Pfisztner Máté Oszkár electrified the game with a punt return touchdown. From there, momentum swung heavily in Budapest’s favor, and the Wolves capitalized in every phase.
QB Tóth Levente led the offense with confidence and efficiency, throwing three touchdown passes. His connection with Pfisztner proved unstoppable, linking up twice through the air, while Varga Tamás added another receiving score to round out a dominant aerial attack.
Pfisztner was the standout performer of the game, finishing with three total touchdowns and consistently stretching the field. His performance set the tone for a Wolves offense that grew sharper with each drive.
Defensively, Budapest delivered in key moments. Hunka Norbert came up with a crucial interception, while veteran Szakács Kristóf Gergely sealed the game late with another takeaway. Their ability to shut down any comeback attempt highlighted a disciplined and opportunistic unit.
What began as a slow start quickly turned into a complete performance, as the Wolves combined big plays and timely defense to secure a convincing win.
Budapest Cowbells (1-0)
The Cowbells put on an offensive clinic, controlling the game early and never fully relinquishing their grip despite a late push from their opponents.
At the center of it all was QB Kelemen Marcell, who orchestrated a dominant passing attack. He spread the ball efficiently, connecting multiple times with both WR Rogria Donell Lewis Jr. and WR Tóth Ákos for a series of touchdown passes that built a commanding first-half lead.
The offense didn’t stop there. RB Richard Seay Jr. proved to be a game-changer, contributing across all phases with rushing, receiving, and even a kickoff return touchdown. His versatility kept the defense guessing and added another layer to an already explosive unit.
Defensively, the Cowbells also made key plays when needed. DB Leszkován Ádám Zsolt recorded an interception, while Fróna Levente recovered a crucial fumble, helping maintain momentum during critical stretches.
While the second half saw some resistance, the early dominance and relentless scoring proved too much to overcome. The Cowbells showed not just firepower, but composure, executing their game plan with discipline and confidence from start to finish.
Újpest Bulldogs (1-1)
The Bulldogs’ game started with early trouble after losing possession on the opening kick return, but the defense responded immediately as DB Rabi Bunga recovered a crucial fumble near the end zone to prevent an early score.
That moment sparked the team. On their first offensive drive, QB Emhő Lóránt connected with WR Bradley Schlom for a 95-yard touchdown, setting the tone. The defense added to the momentum when LB Pethe Olivér blocked a 1-point try and returned it for two points in a standout team effort.
However, as the game progressed, the Bulldogs struggled to keep control. The offense lost rhythm, and defensively, they couldn’t contain the run game, which proved costly.
Still, the team showed fight late on. Emhő Lóránt found Daego Albert for another touchdown, and Rabi Bunga added an interception to give the Bulldogs one last chance. Despite a final effort led by Bradley Schlom, the comeback fell short.
The Bulldogs may have taken the loss, but their big-play ability and resilience show a team with clear potential.
Blue Dragons Belgrade (1-1)
The Blue Dragons came in as underdogs, but walked away with their first victory of the season after a complete team performance on both sides of the ball.
They started fast, as QB Michael Cornwell connected with TE Igor Rokvić, who showed incredible determination, breaking seven tackles on his way into the end zone for an early passing touchdown that put the Dragons on the board and ignited their offense.
Milos Jankovic delivered a key fumble recovery to give the offense another chance, and Cornwell once again linked up with Igor Rokvić, for their second touchdown connection of the day. Just before halftime, the Dragons struck again in style, this time Cornwell finished the drive himself with a passing touchdown, assisted by Varsey Bright, capping off a dominant offensive half.
The defense kept control in the second half, highlighted by an interception from DB Milos Pejovic, shutting down any momentum from the opposition.
Cornwell put the game fully out of reach, breaking free for a rushing touchdown to seal the win and cap off a standout performance.
From explosive offense to timely defensive plays, the Blue Dragons delivered a statement win, earning their first victory of the season in commanding fashion and proving they are a team on the rise.
Budapest Titans (0-2)
The Titans may have come up short, but their performance, especially in the second half, highlighted a team with serious potential.
QB Johnathan Avery Bennett led the charge, delivering an impressive outing through the air while also adding a rushing touchdown. His connection with WR Myles Marquise McKatherine was particularly dangerous, as the duo linked up multiple times for touchdowns.
As the game progressed, the Titans offense began to find its rhythm. WR/DB Horváth Benedek Tamás and Dániel Bende also got involved in the scoring, showcasing the depth of the receiving corps.
What stood out most was the team’s resilience. After being outpaced early, the Titans came back stronger in the second half, moving the ball more effectively and finishing drives with confidence. The late-game surge hinted at what this offense can become with more consistency.
Though the result didn’t swing in their favor, the Titans proved they are far from outmatched. With continued development and sharper starts, this is a team that could quickly turn potential into results.
Győr Sharks (0-1)
The Sharks showed resilience and flashes of impact, but inconsistency ultimately held them back in their matchup against Wolves.
Defensively, the Sharks made some of the game’s biggest plays. DB Matkovics Milán set the tone early with an interception, while LB Jakub Veber delivered one of the highlights of the game, picking off a pass and returning it for a touchdown. Those moments kept Győr competitive and demonstrated their ability to capitalize on opportunities.
On offense, QB Mason McLaughlin faced a challenging outing, struggling at times to find rhythm against a tightening Wolves defense. Still, he managed to connect with his primary weapon, WR Emanuel Eze, for a touchdown that showcased the potential of their passing game.
Despite those bright spots, the Sharks couldn’t maintain sustained drives or match the offensive consistency of their opponents. As the game progressed, turnovers and missed connections made it increasingly difficult to keep pace.
While the result didn’t go their way, Győr’s defensive playmakers and flashes on offense suggest a team with tools to build on, if they can find greater consistency moving forward.
The upcoming weekend promises two must-watch matchups as the Hungarian season continues to heat up.
On April 25, the Győr Sharks will host the Budapest Wolves in what shapes up to be a revenge-driven clash. After falling short in their previous meeting, Győr now returns to its home field with one clear objective: secure their first win of the season. Expect a more aggressive approach from the Sharks, who will look to capitalize on home advantage and clean up the inconsistencies that cost them in the last matchup. Meanwhile, the Wolves will aim to prove their dominance wasn’t a one-time performance and try to sweep the season series.
A day later, on April 26, attention shifts to one of the most anticipated rivalries, as the Újpest Bulldogs face off against the Budapest Cowbells. Rivalry games always bring extra intensity, and this one should be no different. The Cowbells come in with strong momentum after an explosive offensive showing, while the Bulldogs will be eager to make a statement and disrupt that rhythm.
With pride, momentum, and standings all on the line, both matchups promise high energy and potentially defining moments for the teams involved.
