ELF Week 5 Power Rankings

Updated: Jun 19

Another week has come to a close, bringing with it yet another excellent opportunity to take a closer look at how each team is positioning itself and performing as the season continues to unfold.

1. Vienna Vikings

It was a bye week for this team. The real challenge of their season is just around the corner. Things will truly get going next week as they prepare to host the Rhein Fire in their highly anticipated Week 6 matchup.

2. Nordic Storm

The Storm completely dominated the Galaxy, delivering an impressive all-around performance. It was another outstanding day for quarterback Jadrian Clark and his offensive unit. Clark completed nearly 63 percent of his passes and threw for three touchdowns. One went to WR Brendan Beaulieu, who has clearly established himself as Clark's most reliable target. The second TD was caught by tight end Adrià Bottela Moreno, while the third was hauled in by WR2 Edvin Almeida Taborda. The ground game also stepped up, with the rushing attack contributing 2 additional touchdowns to cap off a commanding display. Let’s see what comes next on their quest for greatness against next week's opponents: the Wrocław Panthers.

3. Paris Musketeers

It was also a bye week for the Musketeers. With the season approaching a pivotal turning point, they will face a crucial test next week against the Galaxy. A Week 6 victory will be essential for Paris if they want to stay on track in their race for the top seed in their division and control their playoff destiny.

4. Stuttgart Surge

The Surge is another team that enjoyed a bye week. They are still ranked so highly due to the inability of competitors to make a convincing case for a spot amongst the top 4. Next week, they should have an opportunity to find their rhythm and execute their game plan effectively as they take on the lowly Cologne Centurions.

5. Rhein Fire

To say they were unhappy with their home loss against Paris would be an understatement. Determined to bounce back, they went on a revenge mission and gave the Sea Devils no chance, securing a dominant shutout victory. Quarterback Chad Jeffries was remarkably accurate, completing 80 percent of his passes and looking like a true sniper on the field despite throwing one interception that ultimately had little impact on the outcome. The defense was locked in as well, with French safety Tony Anderson leading the way with an outstanding performance, recording 2 interceptions and 10 tackles. Next week, the Fire aim to keep their momentum going as they travel to Austria to face the top-seeded Vienna Vikings.

6. Frankfurt Galaxy

It was a day to forget for the Galaxy, as both squads struggled to capitalize on opportunities in Week 5 – however, it ultimately cost Frankfurt the game. McKey for example threw 2 picks… Of course, they were facing one of the strongest championship contenders, so rather than dwelling on this loss, the focus now shifts to next week’s matchup against the Musketeers where they will have a chance to bounce back and regain some momentum.

7. Munich Ravens

We were hoping to see them bounce back this week, and what a statement they made. Scoring 35 points in the first quarter alone and finishing the game with a total of 54, Munich never looked back. The entire team was firing on all cylinders, delivering a performance that was both dominant and enjoyable to watch. Now they will look to maintain this level of consistency and stay firmly in the playoff conversation as they face the Berlin Thunder next week.

8. Raiders Tirol

They had control of the game from start to finish, but winning by just one point always leaves room for a bit of anxiety. It was a wild contest overall, but they battled hard and truly earned the victory. Next week they will put their strong start to the test against the Mercenaries, as they look to build momentum and turn this thrilling win into the foundation for the rest of their season.

9. Madrid Bravos

As mentioned earlier, this was an absolute thriller. Aron Cruickshank had an outstanding performance, finding the endzone 3 times and playing a major role throughout the game. However, after his third touchdown, the team opted for a 2-point conversion that unfortunately did not succeed. They will now have some time to reflect during their bye week before traveling to Hamburg for a highly anticipated rematch against the Sea Devils.

10. Hamburg Sea Devils

Well… let’s just hope the recent bad news will not be the start of a downward spiral. Taulia Tagovailoa has already parted ways with the team after playing only two games, leaving Moritz Maack thrown straight into the (Rhein) Fire. It is certainly difficult to build any real momentum under such circumstances. Hopefully, Hamburg will manage to regroup and find the energy necessary to overcome the Prague Lions in next week’s matchup.

11. Prague Lions

After a well-deserved bye, the Lions will look to regroup and find the answers needed to overcome the higher-ranked Sea Devils. A victory here would be crucial in keeping their playoff hopes alive and building momentum for the remainder of the season.

12. Wrocław Panthers

Each week we keep repeating the same thing: a win is a win, no matter who the opponent is. This time, Wrocław did not just win – they made a statement against the Centurions with a dominant 57-3 victory. Every part of the team delivered, turning the game into a showcase of their full potential. Next up on the schedule is the Nordic Storm. Could an upset be brewing? We will find out soon.

13. Berlin Thunder

It was a solid win, and Sullivans (along with the entire team) showed some improvement compared to last week’s level of play. Conceding 21 points against one of the league's weakest teams, however, does raise some questions. The real test will come next week when they face a stronger opponent, as they look to deliver an even better performance and defend their home field against the Munich Ravens.

14. Helvetic Mercenaries

They came up short in this one, and to make matters worse, QB Isaiah Weed was placed on injured reserve after the game due to a rib injury. It is certainly not the ideal way to move forward as the season progresses quickly. Hopefully, they will be able to find some solutions and adjust quickly as they prepare to face the Raiders next week.

15. Fehérvár Enthroners

Fehérvár was never truly in a position to win this game, but they did a good job exploiting the Thunder's weak deep coverage, showing signs of progress on their long and demanding journey of improvement. The upcoming bye week will give them valuable time to build on these positives before returning to action with a chance to challenge the Wrocław Panthers in Week 7.

16. Cologne Centurions

It is starting to look like they may not find any real solutions before the season comes to an end if things continue at this pace. Both the starting and backup quarterbacks had their opportunities, yet both ended up throwing interceptions. Issues were apparent across the entire team, with struggles at every level. Changes need to be made, and quickly, if they want to have any chance of securing a win in 2025.

Week 6 is on the way and the competition remains fierce at the top, while 3 teams have yet to steal a single victory. Could that change next week? Can Hamburg find their footing with their rocky quarterback situation? Who, if anyone, can upend the perfect Vienna Vikings and Nordic Storm? This and more to come as we are officially one-third of our way through the 2025 regular season!
