Rising Powers, Fading Giants, and Everything In Between
Week 4 is in the books, and the weeks ahead are already shaping up to be just as exciting. With some powerhouse teams stumbling and others finding new life, the landscape is shifting fast. Let’s take a look at who came out on top — and who made the biggest statements — during an action-packed weekend of football.
1st. Vienna Vikings
Ben Holmes bounced back in a big way, leading the Vikings with authority after a tough outing last week. Their performance was clinical, dominant, and a reminder to the rest of the league that this squad remains the gold standard. Right now, they look nearly untouchable. In two weeks, they’ll face what might be their biggest challenge yet: a rematch against the Fire. Can they raise the bar even higher?
2nd. Nordic Storm
The Storm enjoyed a well-deserved break this week, but all eyes now turn to their upcoming clash with Frankfurt. With both teams aiming to solidify their championship credentials, next weekend promises fireworks. The Storm have been a force — now it’s time to see if rest means rust or fuel.
3rd. Paris Musketeers
Talk about a statement win. The Musketeers stormed into the Fire’s stadium and left with a commanding victory. It was a showcase of discipline, precision, and complete control. With a full week to regroup and sharpen up, they’ll be eager to avenge their Week 3 loss against the Galaxy and prove they’re legitimate contenders.
4th. Stuttgart Surge
Reilly Hennessey put on a clinic, picking apart the previously undefeated Ravens with laser-sharp accuracy. The Surge handed Munich their first defeat and looked like a team peaking at the right time. With a rest week ahead and a matchup against Cologne looming, they’ll be looking to keep that momentum rolling.
5th. Frankfurt Galaxy
A solid win this week helped the Galaxy maintain their place among the league’s upper tier. But the true test awaits: next week, they face the red-hot Nordic Storm. If Frankfurt wants to be taken seriously in the title conversation, this is the moment to prove it.
6th. Rhein Fire
It’s been a rough stretch for the Fire. After a strong start, the past two weeks have exposed cracks — and the Musketeers capitalized. Turnovers, miscommunication, and a suffocating defense left the Fire frustrated. They’ll need a convincing response against the Sea Devils next week to avoid slipping into unfamiliar territory: the bottom half of the standings.
7th. Munich Ravens
It’s never easy to take a loss after a perfect start, but credit where it’s due: Munich fought hard. The Surge were simply more efficient and hungry this time. The Ravens will look to bounce back against the Mercenaries next weekend — a good opportunity to regain their rhythm.
8th. Madrid Bravos
Madrid had something to prove, and they did just that with a disciplined performance. They tightened up on both sides of the ball and never let things get out of hand. With the Raiders up next, they’ll aim to build a winning streak and establish themselves as a playoff threat.
9th. Hamburg Sea Devils
A clear step in the right direction. Quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa found his groove, throwing three touchdowns and leading the Sea Devils with more confidence. They’ll need another strong performance as they prepare for a major test next week against the Fire.
10th. Raiders Tirol
Facing the Vikings is never easy, and once again, Tirol found themselves overwhelmed. Still, there were moments of resistance and effort. Their next matchup against the Bravos presents a more balanced fight — and a real chance to reset the tone of their season.
11th. Prague Lions
Now that is how you bounce back. The Lions delivered a complete team performance, dominating a comparable opponent by over 30 points. That kind of win can inject belief into a struggling squad. Next up, they’ll head to Hamburg to see if they can keep the fire alive.
12th. Wrocław Panthers
Division losses sting the most, and this one was rough. Quarterback Matthew Irons struggled throughout, throwing three interceptions and getting sacked four times. The Panthers need to regroup fast — a crucial game against Cologne could either steady the ship or deepen the crisis.
13th. Helvetic Mercenaries
They didn’t play this week but still climbed one spot thanks to others faltering. Now the spotlight shifts to their showdown with the Ravens. It’s a tall order, but an upset could finally ignite the Mercenaries’ season.
14th. Berlin Thunder
Another frustrating performance from Berlin. Quarterback J. Sullivan threw the ball 60 times, but with four interceptions, it became clear they were chasing the game more than controlling it. Next week’s clash with the Enthroners could be a turning point… or another missed opportunity.
15th. Fehérvár Enthroners
Each week feels like déjà vu. Another game, another lopsided loss. Nothing seems to click for the Enthroners yet. Their upcoming trip to Berlin might be their best chance to stop the bleeding — but even that’s far from guaranteed.
16th. Cologne Centurions
Not much to take away from their latest outing, except the fact that this season is slipping away fast. A matchup against the Panthers could offer a lifeline — or confirm the worst fears for Cologne fans.
