The first week of the European League of Football (ELF) didn’t deliver many upsets, but it did show us where each team stands at the start of the season. Some franchises looked dominant, while others still have some work to do. Here's our updated Power Rankings after Week 1:
1. Stuttgart Surge
Stuttgart Surge dominated Frankfurt Galaxy in all aspects of the game. QB Reilly Hennessey was sharp, RB Tomiwa Oyewo unstoppable, and the defense was ferocious. They only gave up points late in “garbage time,” with the win already secured. The most in-form team so far.
2. Vienna Vikings
The Austrians didn’t disappoint, beating a tough Prague team. WR Mayr led the offense efficiently, and Lucky Ogbeveon spearheaded a defense that totally shut down Javarian Smith and the Lions. They drop to #2 due to Surge’s stellar performance, not their own shortcomings.
3. Nordic Storm
An impressive debut: 25 points in both the 2nd and 4th quarters, with 5 TD passes by Jadrian Clark, and a pick-six by Luke Glenna. Beaulieu shined, and homegrown RB Witmeur stepped up when needed. This team is scary.
4. Rhein Fire
The “Rhein-ing” champions lived up to expectations. Their revamped offense was backed by a rock-solid defense, and Chad Jeffries led when needed. Still very much title contenders.
5. Paris Musketeers
Despite the loss to Rhein, Paris showed promise. Henderson-Tekedam is a lethal duo through the air, Voumbo is dangerous on the ground, and Henderson confirmed his dual-threat potential. That said, there will be little room for mistakes in their tough division.
6. Munich Ravens
Russell Tabor proved he can handle the ELF stage, despite throwing two interceptions. His chemistry with Malik Stanley and the explosiveness of Justin Rodney powered a win over Tirol. Munich looks playoff-ready early on.
7. Madrid Bravos
Coach Weidinger said it clearly: “score more than the opponent.” Madrid did just that in a gritty 13-12 win. Still room for growth, but their first real test comes this Saturday against Frankfurt Galaxy.
8. Tirol Raiders
Their ground game stalled, but QB Connor Miller kept them competitive. The Raiders are a solid team that’s just one step away from breaking into the upper tier.
9. Frankfurt Galaxy
Tough debut against the current #1. Stuttgart’s defense neutralized Frankfurt’s RB duo and the Galaxy struggled to find any rhythm until the final minutes. Let’s see how they respond against lesser competition.
10. Wrocław Panthers
Big win, albeit against a weaker opponent. Still, their performance was dominant, and they could climb the rankings soon if they are able to maintain this level of play.
11. Hamburg Sea Devils
A loss in Madrid stings, but the Devils showed real progress. Chrisman Kyei was electric, and Micah Leon looked good before leaving the game early. Precision in the field goal department cost them the game—will we see Moritz Maack take over?
12. Berlin Thunder
Massive win led by QB Sullivan and a dominant receiving corps. That said, it came against the league’s lowest ranked team. A real test awaits in the coming rounds…
13. Prague Lions
Great showing against Vienna. Patterson had one of the catches of the week, and Zouzelka played solid football. Mid-tier teams beware—these Lions are ready to climb.
14. Helvetic Mercenaries
Isaiah Weed’s connection with Cole Sr. and Spiller had flashes, but didn’t directly result in any points; without any help in the run game, Weed had to run the ball himself for their lone touchdown on the evening. Crawford led the defense, but they seem to rely too much on imports.
15. Fehervar Enthroners
Simply overwhelmed by the Panthers. They showed heart, but Fehervar will need some serious adjustments to move up the rankings.
16. Cologne Centurions
This was an expected loss to the Thunder. Leuker and Osborne connected well, but their defense just couldn’t cope. They need to tighten things up if they want to be taken seriously.
