Danube Dragons
As of Week 6, the Danube Dragons are leading the league with 5 wins and just 1 loss. The Dragons offense is led by the #1 ranked QB Reischl Alexander (who transferred from the Vienna Vikings) and unstoppable wide receivers like Samuel Imarhigabe and Devin Childress. The Dragons defense is defined by their defensive line prowess, including powerhouses like Camar Kyle and Mathieu Kandolo.
Vienna Vikings
With 4 wins in 5 games, the Vienna Vikings come in 2nd place on our AFL Power Rankings, with their only loss coming at the hands of the Graz Giants in Week 2. The Vikings offense is filled with talent like Aaron Ellis - their QB who spent his last season in Japan - and some impressive WR talent including Fabian Eder and Benjamin Spieler. The defense of the Vikings, led by DB Zoltan Golita and DL Matteo Hoppl, is known for its aggressive playcalling that simply does not allow running backs to get going.
Graz Giants
The Graz Giants were training hard in the offseason to prepare for the unforgiving conditions on the field and so far it has paid off. With QB Mateo Renteria and the league’s #1 running back, the Graz offense is often unstoppable. The defense also holds its own and doesn’t disappoint. Throughout 6 games the Graz Giants are 4-2, placing them 3rd in the Power Rankings.
Prague Black Panthers
Some people may be surprised to see the 2024 AFL champions with only 2 wins at this point in the season. The Black Panthers may have a strong offense with players like Jakub Wolesky, but they can’t seem to get their defense together to stop the aggressive playcalling that is all too common in the AFL. They have a lot of work to do if they want to return to championship form.
SWARCO Raiders
The SWARCO Raiders have been slacking off from the start of the season, although there is a chance that could change after their impressive 55-14 pounding of the Ducks. This puts the Raiders 5th in the league with 2 wins, the first one coming against the 4th-ranked Black Panthers.
Salzburg Ducks
Despite boasting the talent of Rahsaan Lewis (WR from the University of Kentucky and son of legendary NFL linebacker Ray Lewis), the Salzburg Ducks still end up on the bottom of the power rankings without a single win on the season. Rahsaan is the Ducks’ current leader in touchdowns and yards, but football is a team sport. Salzburg will need some other players to step up – and soon.
