SuperSerien Power Ranking

1) Carlstad Crusaders (5-0)

The reigning back-to-back champions have asserted their dominance over the league so far, scoring 49,6 points per game while only allowing 11,6 in the process.

To be fair, their schedule to start the season was a rather easy one, already playing all the teams that are expected to be finishing in the bottom half of the table, but they’ve also convincingly beaten both the Örebro Black Knights and Stockholm Mean Machines with 3+ TD margins.

A-Import Runningback De’Anta Sipp looks like the runaway favorite for basically all the awards, totalling 1.112 All-Purpose Yards and 18 Touchdowns throughout the first 5 games.

2) Tyresö Royal Crowns (3-1)

After the Royal Crowns struggled in the season opener against the newly promoted Göteborg Giants, winning “only” 22-20 they’ve caught some speed beating both the Kristianstad Predators and the Giants again and dropping only one game to the Stockholm Mean Machines in the process.

The recent addition of veteran Import Wide Receiver Alpha Jalloh will only further strengthen their so far impressive passing offense that now features three different Wide Receivers averaging 90+ Yards/Game, while Quarterback Trevor Vasey keeps piling up yards to increase his status as this league’s all-time leading passer with now over 2.500 yards clear of second place.

3) Örebro Black Knights (3-1)

After an opening game loss against the Crusaders, Örebro has now won three games in a row with matchups against the Limhamn Griffins and Tyresö Royal Crowns on the horizon.

They have a talented roster, including a former NFL Wide Receiver and a generally high valued receiving core led by swedish QB Viktor Ekberg who’s been commanding this formerly run-heavy offense well. If they can continue to improve throughout the season the Black Knights will once again be in contention for a home playoff game come June.

4) Stockholm Mean Machines (3-2)

The Mean Machines are back!

Yes, they’ve lost to both Carlstad and Örebro but have also beaten Tyresö and taken care of business against the bottom half teams of the league.

A-Import Dawson Herl looks like the favorite for “Quarterback of the Year” so far, averaging close to 300 Yards/Game including a total of 14 Passing Touchdowns.

Their run game is not bad but the receiving group is where this team strives. Currently 8 (eight!) different players are averaging at least 20 receiving yards per game with 6 of them having already found the back of the end zone this year.

With games against Limhamn, AIK and Göteborg coming up one can expect the Mean Machines to be back in the playoffs this year.

5) Göteborg Giants (2-3)

Göteborg has played a fine first season back in SuperSerien so far, currently sitting at 2-3.

For a second there it looked like they would be able to sneak into the playoff picture, but with 2 of their remaining 3 games coming against the Crusaders and Mean Machines it’s safe to say that Göteborg will rather finish mid-table than in playoff contention.

Nevertheless, the story of the Giants season so far is A-Import LB Tate Gustafsson who currently sits at 58 Total Tackles after just 5 games. If he keeps that pace he might be setting a single season record for most tackles in a season.

6) Limhamn Griffins (2-2)

The Limhamn Griffins have won the games they needed to win, beating both Kristianstad in week 1 and AIK in week 5.

Although they’re not competitive with the playoff teams this year, they’ve proven to be a dominant ground and pound team against the other competition.

Young RB Dominik Kapas currently sits at 542 Yards and 3 Touchdowns after 4 Games and might very well be in contention for both Rookie and RB of the Year.

7) Kristianstad Predators (0-5)

Next week’s matchup between AIK and Kristianstad is going to tell who’s most likely going to finish the season in last place.

Though the Predators are sitting at 0-5 they have shown some flashes this year with veteran QB Philip Juhlin under center and the addition of American Linebacker Devyn Waters who currently ranks top 5 in the league in total tackles.

8) AIK (0-4)

The Stockholm team has been struggling this year.

Although having a very intriguing roster with many young and talented players in addition to former “WR of the Year” Joshua Hicks, AIK has been having a tough time on the field this season currently sitting at 0-4 and only having scored one touchdown so far this season.

A bright spot is former Stockholm Mean Machines and Kristianstad Cornerback Enoch Muwanguzi who has somehow inserted himself into the league’s tackle leaders, including already 2 TFLs.

The rest of the year is most likely going to be focused on developing the young and talented players they have and then regroup for the upcoming season.
