1st Place: Legnano Frogs

Another game, another win, the Frogs Legnano have been deservingly moved to the top of the IFL power ranking! I’ll start with the man himself obviously, #7 Luke Zahradka had another great game as right now he’s building up a strong case to become the 2025 MVP. The Zahr had two rushing TDs, one of them being a leap over the pile from short yardage, and also three passing TDs, two of them being absolute BOMBS like only he does in the IFL. His three incredible weapons, Kittner, Almeida and Pulsinelli saw plenty of action deep downfield on Saturday night and they came up with great catches when needed by their team. We also saw the scary Legnano Frogs D-Line come to play with three sacks, as players like Lorenzo Masini and the usual Claudio Nicola made crucial plays to keep their team ahead through the whole game.
In week 6, since they play on Saturday the Frogs Legnano will be the first team with a chance at moving to 5-0. They’ll have this chance against the Warriors Bologna, who although having only one win are not to be undervalued, any false step could lead to the Frogs losing the playoff bye week they’ve been earning so far.
2nd Place: Firenze Guelfi
The Firenze Guelfi did not play in week 5, they dropped to second place because the Frogs deserve to have at least one week on top for the season they’ve put together so far. In week 6 the Guelfi will face a struggling Skorpions Varese team which they’ll need to beat to keep setting the bar higher in the Girone B.
3rd Place: Parma Panthers

The first true mud-bowl of the season saw the Parma Panthers win 45-6 over the Warriors Bologna. If you love the rushing aspect of an offense this is the game you need to go back and watch! The Parma Panthers relied heavily on their physical freak import Lb turned RB Jaylin Parnell in the first two quarters, who was often lined up as a QB in a wildcard formation and was able to score three rushing TDs from that position to build up the lead. In the end of the second quarter and through the second half it looked like the Panthers were resting some players, but we still saw two rushing TDs, one by the backup QB Monardi and one by the import Fiscelli, along with an amazing 80 yard pick six by Brunetti. All together just a dominant performance from the Panthers who needed to get back to winning.
The Parma Panthers have another bye week in week 6 as they prepare to play against the Ancona Dolphins in week 7, this won’t be an easy matchup as the winner of this will stay in the fight for that 1st seed bye week in the playoffs.
4th Place: Torino Giaguari

The Giaguari Torino are completely stuck in this ranking, they can’t go up nor down. In week 5 we saw them put together another great win versus the Pirates who seem to have found new life lately. After last week we saw the RBs La Rocca and Tenconi take over the offense. This week we’re back with the impressive import QB Evan Robert Lewandowski! Not joking, that’s his actual middle name, and this Sunday he played just like the Polish striker, scoring left and right! He rushed for two TDs and threw for another three, two received by the TE from Sacred Heart University, Till Pirtle. Another player who keeps on shining is Paolo Lazzaretto, the class 2005 DB is putting together a truly impressive season as he recorded yet another two interceptions performance on Sunday. The Torino Giaguari are probably happy to have a bye in week 6 as they can use it to prepare for their week 7 matchup to try and take the lead of the Girone B against the Firenze Guelfi.
5th Place: Ancona Dolphins
The Ancona Dolphins did not play in week 5, they have remained in 5th nonetheless. In week 6 the Dolphins will host the Bergamo Lions, a must win matchup for them to keep the pace with the top Girone A teams and separate themselves from the bottom 3.
6th Place: Milano Rhinos

The Milano Rhinos fell short against the Legnano Frogs in week 5. In the first quarter the Rhinos allowed the Frogs to run up the score to 21-0, but thanks to McCray’s efforts throwing TDs to his receivers Jordan Bouah and Tamsir Seck and also thanks to a great sack by Destiny Giuliani, the score at half was 21-14 and the momentum looked to be with Milano. Unfortunately for them though the Legnano Frogs managed to slow them down and ultimately scored two more TDs in the fourth quarter to put the final score at 35-14. There is a clear Offensive Line issue with the Rhinos Milano right now, which might have been highlighted by them playing two of the best d-lines in Italian football back to back weeks. However,l allowing three or more sacks a game is a trend that they must stop if they wanna make a playoff run. The Milano Rhinos have a bye in week 6 and they’ll be looking to get back in the win column against the bottom ranked Lions Bergamo in week 7.
7th Place: Skorpions Varese
The Varese Skorpions did not play in week 5, they climbed back up to seventh because of the Ferrara Aquile’s huge drop. In week 6 they will host the Firenze Guelfi who battered them in their first matchup, they’ll need to show they have made improvements since then, but it won’t be easy.
8th Place: Albisola Pirates

The dark-horse role in the very entertaining Girone B isn’t left vacant for even one day, as the Albisola Superiore Pirates take it from the Aquile Ferrara. The Pirates lost to the Torino Giaguari 38-29, but in such a promising fashion that you can’t but hope they make a playoff run! The newly promoted team from Albisola Superiore played a lot more with their Italian quarterback #15 Jordy Baidal, and maybe they’re onto something there. Baidal put up 4 passing TDs against one of the best secondaries in the league, three of them to his trusty weapon Andrea Fiammenghi, who we finally see a bit more involved for the first time this season. In week 6 the Albisola Pirates have a real chance to steal the dark-horse title from the Aquile Ferrara and maybe get their second win of the season against them.
9th Place: Lazio Marines

What a performance from the Lazio Marines! 14-6 against the Aquile Ferrara to finally get their first win of the season and get out of the bottom spot in the Girone B! The Marines’ defense came to play on Sunday with two interceptions, one by the import Thornton and one by Adriano Araceli, and only 6 points allowed to what looked like a challenging Aquile Ferrara defense. Josiah Norwood and his offense were able to put up two touchdowns in a mainly defensively dominated game, both of them to Michele Costa on pretty similar plays. The Lazio Marines should be really excited about this win, especially because after the week 6 bye week they’ll face the Skorpions Varese, and if they win that one they could even be fighting for a playoff spot in the second half of the season!
10th Place: Warriors Bologna

The Bologna Warriors slam their faces on a big muddy Parma Panthers wall who bring them down 45-6. The defense could not find any solution to stop the Panthers from scoring in the Emilia Romagna derby, which wasn’t an easy task to be fair though, as the Panthers are great at rushing the ball so it would be expected of them to thrive in a mud-bowl. On offense they found a glimpse of light at the start of the third quarter when their own import LB Gael Laurent was put at RB and he was able to score a 60 yard touchdown, but unfortunately that was pretty much it as even the two points rushing attempt by Wessberg was stopped. The Bologna Warriors will face the Girone A leaders Frogs Legnano in week 6 in what’s looking like another very tough matchup for them.
11th Place: Ferrara Aquile

This is where the season gets tough for the Ferrara Aquile. After looking promising for the first three games of the season, but not being able to win any of them, this week they played in the battle of the 0-3 teams. Although most people were expecting them to win quite easily this weekend they just weren’t able to do it and this is the reason for their huge drop. After going up in the 1st quarter 0-6 thanks to an amazing 46 yard pass from Aaron Allen to Jacopo Bindini the Aquile were shut out for the rest of the game, which ultimately ended 14-6 for the Lazio Marines. We saw the defense keeping their team in the game forcing many three-and-outs and catching a crucial interception in the third quarter. That was Andrea Fantin, the former Milano Seamen player from the ELF that prevented a scoring drive when the Marines were starting from almost the red-zone after an interception of their own. The Aquile Ferrara did throw another two interceptions this weekend, which is something they had to polish up, but none of them were thrown by the import QB Aaron Allen, as they came one of a trick play executed poorly and one from the backup QB. In week 6 the Aquile Ferrara will face the Pirates from Albisola Superiore, they should be another approachable matchup for the Aquile who desperately need to turn the season around now.
12th Place: Bergamo Lions
The Bergamo Lions also did not play in week 5, they remained in last place of the ranking. In week 6 the Lions will travel to Ancona to face the Dolphins, in what looks like a nearly impossible mission for them, but we do wish them the best of luck.
CLOSING OUT WITH A DIVISIONS RANKING
Disclaimer: This ranking is aimed at the present. It’s heavily based on what was seen on the field this week and it will be like that for future weeks as well. Therefore if a team has a bye they might fall. Of course there is influence from previous accomplishments and future expectations, but as I said, it is based on the present!
