IFL Power Ranking - Week 3

1. Guelfi Firenze

Guelfi Firenze's forced break is over, and the match against Rhinos Milano will determine whether the reigning Italian Football League champions have lost their edge after consecutive weeks off the field.

The Guelfi Sport Center will await their favorites during Week 4 in what will be the purple's home opener.

2. Giaguari Torino

Are these Giaguari really serious? After last year's struggles, with four consecutive losses that shattered the Gialloneri's momentum, the Piemontese team is one of the surprises of this Italian Football League.

The defense has performed very well in the two wins achieved so far, and even though the muddy pitch and adverse weather conditions significantly affected the match against Ancona last Saturday, they still managed to concede zero points.

Week 2 MVP Ethan Greenfield once again shone with three touchdowns, proving himself to be one of the key players in this season's championship.

After the struggles of the first three league games, Torino will have a bye week before returning to the field at home, this time against Aquile Ferrara.

3. Parma Panthers

Thinking about them with a cool head, the two wins against Rhinos Milano and Lazio Marines have left plenty of room for improvement.

The match scheduled in Ancona against the Dolphins, a team that came out of a rough start against the Giaguari, will be a do-or-die challenge for Coach Brian Michitti's men, who absolutely must find a balance.

4. Aquile Ferrara

Stefano Zucchelli's team closed its first quarter of the season with two wins, a good sign for the upcoming matches.

Against Lazio Marines, Ferrara managed to find an extra gear in the final quarter, thanks to touchdowns by Leonardo Pasquotto and Zach Wright, both of whom scored twice, while the defense managed to keep the opposition at bay when the ball was hot.

Thanks to their point differential over the Panthers, the Emilian team now leads the standings, but much will change before the away match against Giaguari Torino in two weekends.

5. Frogs Legnano

Many insiders were initially skeptical about the Frogs, especially with major doubts surrounding missing players on the field and in the sidelines, but they were soon reconsidered after the game against Warriors Bologna.

The Lombardy team performed well in their first home game, defeating the Bolognese side, albeit with some difficulty, but still taking home the win.

Josh Stokes and Luke Caliendo performed well in their first career games in Italy, with the all-Italian defense making its mark thanks in part to an interception by veteran Simone Perego.

It's fair to say it was the first game of a new era, but things are starting to get complicated, as their next game will be against the stoic Lazio Marines.

A small honorable mention goes to the management for establishing the Frogs Hall of Fame dedicated to players who have made the club's history. The first to be inducted was Roberto Pezzotta, a former Black-and-Silver defensive tackle who passed away in 2023 and was part of the dynasty that characterized the team during the 1980s.

6. Rhinos Milano

The long layoff for Rhinos Milano and the introduction of teams that hadn't yet debuted this year have significantly altered their position in the Power Ranking.

Having digested the bitter pill of a home defeat against Parma in their home debut, Luca Lorandi's team now faces a very difficult match against Guelfi Firenze, the second of three against teams that on paper are very difficult.

7. Dolphins Ancona

An unexpected defeat hit last year's finalists in their first game of the new season.

A scoreless game against Giaguari Torino was the big surprise of Week 3, coming from a team with high expectations for the 2026 season.

A "wet" debut wasn't a lucky one for Rik Parker's team, which comes away from the Piedmont matchup with a bruised head and will now have to prepare for another important match, the home game against Parma scheduled for Week 4.

8. Lazio Marines

Like the previous week in Parma, the Marines lost in the final quarter and threw away a game that felt like an upset.

Despite a strong performance away against Ferrara, Cooper Heisey's team returns to the capital with bruised heads and two losses in their first two games of the season, both bloody in their turn.

Among the good news is the first IFL TD for Lorenzo Cinelli, a young player on loan from the 9FL's Legionari Roma and already playing for the national youth teams. He's a name that could make a difference on a roster that values its youth among its strengths.

The Romans will return to action in Week 4 at home against the Frogs Legnano in a game that already feels like a direct clash.

9. Warriors Bologna

Warriors Bologna have lost three of three in their first three league games. However, despite yet another defeat in a season that has already taken a turn for the worse, they have shown some impressive offensive performances.

In fact, the TDs by Josh Stokes and the newly drafted Caleb Berry, their first two in the IFL for each and the first of the season for Christian Nobile's team, are scant consolation for a team that struggled in its first two games and performed well, within its limitations, against the Frogs.

The Warriors now have a month to further refine the results they've learned in the first three games of the season. Their next match will be in Week 7 against Ancona at home.
