1st Place: Firenze Guelfi
The Firenze Guelfi did not play in week 11, therefore they keep their 1st place as the only undefeated team in Italy. They will be looking to avoid losing this title in their week 12 matchup versus the upcoming Ferrara Aquile.
2nd Place: Ancona Dolphins

The Ancona Dolphins have established themself as the clear #1 seed in the IFL Girone A after they beat the Rhinos Milano and the Frogs lost to the Panthers. The first game of the final stretch for the Dolphins was easily handled, 35-7 over Milano. Import QB Blake Eaton threw for 5 passing touchdowns, two each received by Dazzani and Terhark and one caught by Orlandini. The only 7 points allowed came late in the 4th quarter when the game was pretty much over. Through the game the Ancona defense proved again they’re one of the best and more organized in Italy. Next Sunday they’re playing in Bergamo where they should easily keep their win streak alive against the Lions. The real test in this final stretch will come in week 13 against the Parma Panthers. A loss in Parma might make them lose their #1 seed in the Girone A.
3rd Place: Parma Panthers

The Parma Panthers played the Frogs Legnano in week 11, and if you’ve been following the IFL you know it was one of the most anticipated matchups of the year. In the first leg the Frogs won 24-21, giving Parma their first loss of the year. The Panthers needed to win this one to stay in contention for the #1 seed in the Girone A, and they did with a 26-25 final score. On offense we saw Fiscelli scoring a touchdown and on defense it was Alinovi with an interception. Although the star of the show was Jaylin Parnell. The import LB wrecked the game on defense with a sack and a huge tackle for loss, but the real impact was on offense as he scored another two rushing touchdowns to add to his season total. The Parma Panthers then remain in the race, and their last obstacle will be the current #1 seed, the Ancona Dolphins in week 13.
4th Place: Legnano Frogs

In another amazing matchup against the Parma Panthers this time the Frogs Legnano came up short. Import QB Luke Zahradka threw 4 passing touchdowns, two to Danny Kittner and one to Pulsinelli, and a last second touchdown to Segre. Unfortunately that was not enough as they then tried a fake field goal to win it and that fell incomplete. With this loss the Frogs fell to 3rd in the Girone A as they were beaten by the Dolphins too before Easter-break. In week 12 the Frogs will face the Rhinos Milano as they need to keep accumulating wins whilst hoping that the two teams ahead of them slip up.
5th Place: Ferrara Aquile
The Ferrara Aquile did not play in week 11, they will then remain in 5th place. Next week they’ll play the undefeated #1 ranked Firenze Guelfi. If they can pull off the upset they’d have a huge step up compared to the Skorpions and Giaguari to make the playoffs.
6th Place: Skorpions Varese

What a game by the Skorpions Varese, the final score was 37-14 over the Giaguari Torino in week 11. The Varese offense was in full control of the game, putting 5 touchdowns on the board and a field goal. Out of the scorers in Varese the light fell on Roberto Zanovello, who had himself three touchdowns. After the ups and downs of this crazy 2025 season, the Skorpions have the easiest remaining schedule in the Girone B. They’ll play the Pirates in week 12 on Saturday and the Marines in week 14. Winning these two games is crucial for the Skorpions to reach the playoffs and have a chance to fly to Toledo for the Italian Bowl.
7th Place: Torino Giaguari
Is the season over for the Giaguari Torino? Can they find a way to get into the playoffs? After an amazing 4-0 start the Giaguari have now fallen to 4-4, losing 4 straight games. This week it was the Skorpions who beat them, and it was a lot worse than last week versus Ferrara. The two touchdowns from Jacopo Salsa weren’t nearly enough as the final score was 35-14. This isn’t the first time we see this from the Giaguari as last year they went up 2-0 and then closed the season 2-6. To avoid this the first step will be beating the Pirates, a matchup that seems very approachable after the bye week in week 12. In week 14 they’ll need to pull of a miracle versus the unbeaten #1 seed Guelfi Firenze.
8th Place: Lazio Marines
As Bee Gees once sang “I, I, I, I’m staying alive, staying alive”. With a 38-10 win over the Pirates Albisola not only have the Marines almost surely escaped the play-out, they are now one win below the playoff paying spots. They can now come in late and steal like the Grinch. There are 4 teams in the race for the #2 and #3 seeds in the Girone B: Torino Giaguari, Skorpions Varese, Aquile Ferrara and the Marines. Lazio will face the Aquile first and then the Skorpions before the end of the season, after their bye in week 12. Winning both of these matchups is possible, but it won’t be easy. We’ll see how they close out the year!
9th Place: Milano Rhinos
Yet another tough loss for the Rhinos Milano in week 11, the final score was 35-7 in Ancona. The Rhinos continue on their downslope looking unorganized and out of talents. They didn’t have any answer to stop the Dolphins’ offense, which they had in the first matchup at least for the first three quarters. On offense they were able to score only 7 points when the game was virtually over with a MacCray passing touchdown to Boni. In week 12 the Rhinos have their third incredibly hard matchup in a row as they’ll host the Legnano Frogs. They will try to upset the Frogs, which won’t be easy as they’re still trying to reach a higher seed for the playoffs.
10th Place: Warriors Bologna
The Warriors Bologna did not play in week 11, they will then remain in 10th place. As said last week, they won’t be back on the field until week 13 vs the Lions in a deciding matchup for who falls into the play-outs.
11th Place: Bergamo Lions
The Bergamo Lions did not play in week 11, they were moved up a spot only because the Albisola Superiore Pirates lost a crucial game by a large margin. The Lions HAVE NOT proven to be a better team than the Pirates, but they still have a chance to escape the play-outs. This chance will come in week 13 against the Bologna Warriors, as it’s very unlikely that the Lions come out with a useful result this Sunday against the #1 Dolphins Ancona.
12th Place: Albisola Pirates
With a devastating loss to the Lazio Marines the Albisola Superiore Pirates look to be doomed to go to the IFL play-outs. After this matchup the Pirates fall to 1-6, whilst the Marines climb to 3-5. The Lazio Marines also have the edge in points scored between the matchups they have split with a 55-34 total. The only way left for the Pirates to be saved from the play-outs is for them to win all three of the remaining matchups, which will be against the Skorpions, Giaguari and Aquile. They’d also need the Marines to lose both the matchups to the Skorpions and Aquile, and even that might not happen.
CLOSING OUT WITH A DIVISIONS RANKING
Disclaimer: This ranking is aimed at the present. It’s heavily based on what was seen on the field this week and it will be like that for future weeks as well. Therefore if a team has a bye they might fall. Of course there is influence from previous accomplishments and future expectations, but as I said, it is based on the present!
